POONCH, Aug 4: In a crackdown on illegal mining, Surankote Police today conducted multiple raids at various locations and seized five vehicles for illegal mining.
The operation was led by SHO Surankote, Insp Aejaz Wani, under the supervision of SDPO, Ajaz Choudhary.
During the operation, the police team detected five vehicles-four tractor trolleys and one tipper-actively engaged in illegal mining activities without possessing the requisite permits. Acting swiftly, the police seized all the vehicles involved and took them into custody on the spot.
All the vehicles were immediately impounded and taken to the police station. The Mining Department has been informed of the seizures and further legal proceedings are expected to follow.
