LAKHANPUR, Apr 17: The Lakhanpur Police has seized five tippers and five JCBs involved in illegal mining from River Ravi in Lakhanpur area today.
As per reports the Lakhanpur Police after coming to know that illegal excavation is being done in river bed to extract Bajri and sand, a police team led by DySP DR Kathua and SHO Lakhanpur visited the spot and seized the five tippers and five JCBs which were engaged in extracting the sand and bajri form river bed.
The drivers of these vehicles were also taken into custody. The vehicles and the machines were brought to Lakhanpur Police Station. The Police has also registered a case in this regard.
