SRINAGAR, May 2: Militants tonight barged into the police post of District Court complex Shopian in South Kashmir and decamped with five rifles including an AK-47.
A police officer said that a group of militants tonight ransacked a Police Post in District Court complex Shopian and decamped with four Insas and one AK-47 rifle.
The reports said that two police guards, who were on duty, were overpowered by the militants and tied with a rope inside and militants decamped with arms and ammunition.
Senior police and para-military force and Army officials reached the spot and a hunt has been launched in the area against the militants responsible for weapon snatching.
This is a major strike after yesterday’s killing of five police men and two bank officials and looting of 4 rifles from a Jammu and Kashmir Bank Van in Kulgam district of South Kashmir.
