REASI, Dec 20: In a tragic incident, five persons died and eight others were injured, some of them critically, when roof of an under construction Kaccha house collapsed at village Thub, Nalla Panasa, in Thakrakote area, here this evening.
Five persons died on the spot while the injured were shifted to District Hospital Reasi where four of them were further referred to GMC Hospital Jammu for advanced treatment, informed SSP Reasi, Tahir Sajjad Bhat.
He further said that the mishap took place when roof of under-construction Kaccha house of one Ibrahim, son of Abdul Gani, caved in and the victims got buried under the debris. All the deceased and injured were locals who were helping the owner in construction of the house.
The deceased were identified as Manzoor Ahmed, son of Mohd Shafi, Ashiq Ali son of Mohd Wazir, Muzaffer Hussain, son of Zaker, Mohd Gafoor son of Sain and Gulzar, son of Salam Din. All were residents of Nalla Panasa.
The injured were identified as Saddam, son of Mohd Hussain, Nazir Ahmed son of Mohd Qasim, Mumtaz Ali son of Zubair, Mohd Mukhtyar, son of Mohd Ali, Bashir Ahmed, son of Gulam Qadir, Mohd Akram, son of Zakir Hussain, Mohd Sharief, son of Khan Mohd and Shabir Ahmad, son of Mohd Ali. All are residents of Thub.
Four of the injured, who have sustained grievous wounds like head injuries and bone fractures, have been referred to GMC Hospital Jammu for advanced treatment.
