5 hurt in accident on Mughal Road

RAJOURI, Aug 19: At least five persons were injured one of them seriously, when an Eco car met with an accident at Mansar Morh in Behramgalla area on Mughal Road this afternoon.
Official sources said that mishap took place when the Eco car no. JK-12 5663 was on way to Srinagar from Mandi in district Poonch. When the ill-fated vehicle reached Mansar Morh, the driver lost control and the vehicle was rolled down in a small gorge, causing injuries to all the five people on board.
The locals of the area rushed to the spot for rescue operation. Police party from Behramgalla also reached the site immediately after receiving information. The injured were shifted to Primary Health Centre, Chandimarh and later removed to Sub District Hospital, Surankote. There was no ambulance available in PHC Chandimarh for shifting accident victims to Surankote, it caused great resentment among the locals of the area. However, they were then shifted in private vehicles.
The injured were identified as Mohd Ifhan, son of Mohd Alyas; Asmat Begum, wife of Mohd Sharief; Naseem Akhtar, wife of Mohd Farooq ; Jameela Bi, wife of Mohd Alyas and Afat Jan, son of Mohd Sharief- all residents of Arai village in Mandi tehsil of district Poonch. The police has registered a case FIR No. 304/ 2021 in this connection.
