UDHAMPUR, Apr 21: Police today arrested five gamblers along with Rs 73,000 stake money from Satenni area of the district.
As per police sources, a police team from Udhampur police station led by SHO Mahesh Sharma conducted a raid in village Satenni and nabbed five gamblers.
The police team recovered Rs 73,000 stake money and playing cards from the spot.
The accused have been identified as Kamal Sharma, son of Mohan Lal of Chabutra Bazaar, Sanjay Kumar, son of Tara Chand of Shakti Nagar, Mahesh Kumar, son of Om Parkash of Housing Colony, Ram Kumar, son of Mast Ram of Adarsh Colony and Vijay Sharma, son of Sant Kumar of Ward Number 8.
A case under Section 13 Gambling Act has been registered at Udhampur police station and investigation started.
