POONCH, Mar 27: The police foiled a bovines smuggling attempt in Chandimarh area on Mughal Road and seized a vehicle loaded with five milch animals today.
A police official said that Surankote Poonch achieved success by foiling an illegal bovines transportation at Chandimarh. At about 15:45 hours, a police party deployed at Chandimarh naka intercepted a Tata Mobile vehicle bearing registration number, JK03F-3188, which was on its way from Bufliaz (Poonch) towards Kashmir.
Upon checking of the vehicle, it was found carrying five bovine animals without any valid permission or requisite documents. The vehicle was being driven by one Faisel Hamid, son of Mohd Hamid Malik, resident of Fazalabad in Surankote. The individual failed to produce any legal authorization for transportation of the bovines. Accordingly, a case was registered in this connection and cognizance of the matter taken as per law.
