5 bovine animals rescued, smuggler arrested

REASI, Feb 27: Foiling an attempt of bovine smuggling at Kanjali, near Dera Baba, Police rescued five bovine animals besides arresting the smuggler.
An information through reliable source was received at PP Dera Baba that a person was carrying bovine animals in a Pick- up truck bearing registration number JK02CL-7740 for smuggling them.
Acting on the basis of the information, the police party laid a naka at Kanjali area and intercepted the alleged bovine smuggler namely Mumtaz Ahmed Chouhan, son of Mohd Khalil Chouhan, resident of Verinag, Anantnag A/P Dhansal, District Jammu who was carrying five bovine animals without any valid permission.
Police arrested the accused and rescued all the bovine animals. A case FIR, under section 223 BNS, 11(1) (A) PCA Act has been registered in this connection at P/S Reasi.
The Police operation was led by I/C PP Dera Baba, PSI Jarnail Singh, under the supervision of SHO Reasi, Insp Ranjeet Singh Rao.
