RAJOURI, Sept 11: The police foiled three separate smuggling attempts in Kandi area during last two days and seized 49 bovine animals. Five persons were also booked in this connection.
A police spokesman said that the police teams apprehended five smugglers who were attempting to transport the animals illegally. The operations were carried out by the team of Police Station Kandi led by SHO Inspector Rajveer Singh and were closely supervised by SDPO Kandi-Budhal, DySP Shammi Kumar.
The arrested smugglers have been identified as Abdul Aziz, son of Ghulam Mohd, resident of Morha Kotranka; Abdul Gani, son of Soba, resident of Kotranka; Mohd Anwer, son of Mohd Latief, resident of Gundi, Tehsil Khawas: Mohd Sageer, son of Mohd Main, resident of Gundi, Tehsil Khawas and Shokit Hussain, son of Maneer Hussain, resident of Gundi in Khawas.
In this connection, five separate cases have been registered at Police Station Kandi.
