47 units blood donated in 3 camps at Poonch

Poonch, Oct 1: Blood Donation Day was observed in Poonch with three voluntary blood donation camps held across the district. The drives were conducted under the supervision of Chief Medical Officer Poonch, Dr. Parvaiz Ahmed Khan, in collaboration with Raja Sukhdev Singh District Hospital Poonch.
A camp organised by the Municipal Council Poonch collected two units of blood, while the 425 Army Hospital Poonch contributed 26 units. At the 169 Military Hospital, Potha Surankote, 19 units of blood were donated. In total, 47 units of blood of different groups were collected and preserved at the Blood Bank, District Hospital Poonch.
Chief Medical Officer Dr. Parvaiz Ahmed Khan thanked the BSF Mandi cadre, Army units, and the Municipal Council Poonch for extending support to the noble cause. He said the donations would prove vital in saving precious lives during emergencies such as road accidents, surgeries, dialysis, and other medical conditions.
Appealing to the youth and general public, Dr. Khan stressed the need for regular voluntary blood donation, describing it as an act of social responsibility that strengthens community welfare and ensures timely help to patients in need.
