453 ‘misguided’ youths returned to J&K since 2010 rehab policy: Veeri

JAMMU:
Minister for Horticulture and Haj Auqaf Abdul Rehman Veeri today said since 2010 rehabilitation policy, 453 ‘misguided’ youth have returned to their homes via Nepal route in different parts of the State.
Replying in the Legislative Council, Mr Veeri said acting on the recommendations of the working group (constituted by then Prime Minister in 2006) the State Government in consultation with the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, had in November, 2010 notified the policy and procedure for the return of misguided youth, who had crossed to PoK.
He said since the notification of the Policy in 2010, none of the youths has returned to the State through the four approved routes. “However, 453 persons along with 197 wives and 603 children have returned via Nepal which is not a recognized route,” he said adding that reportedly, 4,000 persons are in PoK/Pakistan.  (AGENCIES)
