UDHAMPUR, Sept 1: Continuing its drive against drug peddlers, Udhampur Police nabbed a drug peddler and seized 44 kg of poppy straw from his possession.
Official sources said that during routine naka a police team from PS Udhampur stopped a truck bearing registration number PB13BG -2950 for checking at Jakheni naka point, on National Highway in Udhampur.
During search of the vehicle, 44 kg of poppy straw was recovered from the vehicle. Its driver Jeet Singh, son of Shotta Singh, resident of Barnala in Sangroor district of Punjab was arrested on the spot and poppy straw seized.
A case FIR No. 461/2020 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act was registered at PS Udhampur and further investigation was in progress.
