They include Kokernag in Anantnag district, Baradari in Reasi district, Bhadarwah in Doda and Doodhpathri in Budgam.
“The projects are being developed as a joint venture between The World Bank, Jammu and Kashmir Government and the Centre,” sources said.
The destinations were finalised last month after a World Bank delegation visited the State.
For development of these four new tourist destinations, the World Bank would essentially serve as a primarily knowledge partner. It would also help in the promotion of the handicrafts industry.
Union Tourism Ministry officials said as far as Jammu and Kashmir is concerned, the focus would be on ecological sustainability.
