4 Punjab people killed in Drass

SRINAGAR, May 25:
Three residents of Punjab are feared dead while body of fourth victim was recovered after their vehicle fell into a river in Ladakh region, official sources said here today.
Body of one of the victims identified as Arjun Singh, son of Jaspal Singh, resident of Basant Colony, Pathankot, Punjab has so far been recovered while search for the remaining three was going on. They said a Bolero vehicle bearing registration number PB05F-1557 met with an accident and fell into the river Drass near village Jasgund Drass, Leh-Srinagar National Highway.
Four people, travelling in the vehicle also were drowned, they said adding Kargil Police headed by Additional Superintendent of Police with the assistance of civil administration and Army authorities started rescue operation immediately after receiving information about the accident.
During rescue operation the vehicle was retrieved along with a body who was identified that of Arjun Singh, they said adding but three others Bittu Singh son of Gurmat Singh, Gulshan Singh son of Gurmat Singh and Ratan Singh son of Chuni Singh, residents of Pathankot are still missing. Rescue operation is still going on despite the fast flow of the river. (UNI)
