4 KP civil servants honoured

JAMMU, Sept 6: Four KP youth who qualified the civil services examination were honoured at a simple but impressive function organized by “Batte Shurie” a newly formed KP organization at Pandit Radha Krishan Ganjoo Memorial Trust here, today.
Among the four, two are IAS and two are KAS officers. While, Sharmistha Kaul qualified IAS soon after the mass migration of the Pandits from Valley, Amit Kaul is the IAS Officer of 2014 batch. The two KAS officers included Deepali Kanna and Nipun Tickoo are also of 2014 batch.
The Kashmiri Pandits from all walks of life including community intellectuals, writers, artists, academicians, social activists participated in the function and appreciated the efforts of these youth who have set an example for others to follow.
Sharing her experience Sharmistha Kaul said that one should excel in whatever profession he or she chooses. Others also shared their experiences that how they were able to cross their examinations and asked the students of the community to choose a profession they like and work hard to excel in that.
“With hard work, zeal and enthusiasm they will certainly excel in that profession and touch heights in their lives”, they said, adding that one should never be afraid of a failure but continue to struggle with dedication to attain the goal. “If one has a strong will power he or she can surely make impossible possible”.
These officers were honoured by president KP Sabha, K K Khosa, Kuldeep Dhar, T K Ganjoo, R K Koul, S K Turki, S K Khurdi, Santosh Shah Nadan and Tej Krishan Jagyasoo.
The parents of these officers were also felicitated by P N Kaul Sayil, Swami Kumar Ji, Prof A K Ogra and others. On the occasion students of Sharika Foundation were also felicitated for their contribution and dedication to the cause of humanity.
The key note address was read by P N Kaul Sayil.
Dr Sushil Wattal a well known social activist said that the purpose of organizing such programmes is to encourage the younger generation to take part in civil services examinations in large numbers. The vote of thanks was proposed by Tej Krishan Koul while the programme was compared by Sanjay Dhar and Upinder Krishan Bhat.
