RAJOURI, Mar 29: The police busted a racket of illicit liquor manufacturing in Bareri village of Nowshera, arrested two persons and destroyed around 800 litres of Lahan.
Official sources said a Police team from Nowshera headed by SHO, Insp Pankaj Sharma, during patrolling apprehended two persons near Bereri village, who were found engaged in manufacture of illicit liquor. They were identified as Ravinder Singh and Gurdev Singh, both sons of Santokh Singh, resident of Bareri.
They were found in possession of 15 litres of illicit liquor along with utensils and other items used in the manufacturing of illicit liquor, which have been seized. Further, 800 litres of Lahan was also recovered from their possession, which was destroyed. A case FIR No. 45/2021 has been registered against them.
Meanwhile, police busted another racket involved in manufacturing of illicit liquor and arrested two persons in Nonial area of Nowshera today. Two persons were noticed by police team involved in some activity in forest area.
Identified as Mohinder Singh, son of Harbans Singh and Kamaljeet Singh, son of Sawan Singh, resident of Nonial in Nowshera, they were taken into custody and 10 Lt illicit liquor was recovered from their possession. The working still was also smashed. A case FIR No. 46/2021 under Excise Act has been registered against them.
