Srinagar, July 11: Baramulla Police today arrested 4 gamblers from a gambling site and seized stake money from their possession.
Police said that while acting on specific information, a police party from Police Station Sheeri raided a gambling site at Zandfaran Sheeri following input about gambling activities and apprehended four gamblers.
“They have been identified as Qaser Bilal Bhat, son of Bilal Ahmad resident of Zogiyar, Fayaz Ahmad Rather, son of Gh Mohd resident of Badmullah Baramulla, Abdul Qayoom Dar son of Ab Khaliq & Zahoor Ahmad Sheikh son of Ab Hamid both residents of Fatehgarh,” police said.
Officers have seized stake money of Rs12,500 and playing cards from the gamblers. They have been arrested and shifted to the police station where they remain in custody.
Accordingly, a case under relevant Sections of law has been registered in Police Station Sheeri and an investigation has been initiated.
