4 drug peddlers held with heroin

UDHAMPUR, Sept 19: The police arrested four drug-peddlers and recovered some quantity of heroin from their possession in Udhampur district today.
Reports said during a naka at Jakhani, the police party from Udhampur intercepted a truck bearing registration No. JK13C-6805. During checking, about 4 gms of heroin was recovered from the driver namely Maqbool Ahangar, son of Ali Mohd Ahangar, resident of Khonmoh, Pantha Chowk, district Srinagar and 3 gms heroin from co-driver Hanan Mushtaq, son of Mushtaq Ahmed Ahangar resident of Khonmoh, in district Srinagar.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 337/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Udhampur and both accused have been arrested.
In another case the police party from Chenani, during patrolling near Domail Chowk apprehended one person who disclosed his identity as Mohd Sharif, son of Jamal Din from Incha, Tehsil Chenani, in district Udhampur.
On his personal search, about 3.50 gms of heroin was recovered from his possession. In this connection, a case FIR No. 89/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Chenani and the accused has been arrested. Further investigation of the case is underway.
Meanwhile, police nabbed another drug -peddler at Majalta Morh and recovered 05 gms of heroin from his possession. SHO Abdul Satar said the accused has been identified as Shubham Singh, son of Surinder Singh, resident of Demma in Udhampur. A case FIR No. 75/ 2025 has been registerfed against him.
