4 drug peddlers held with 65.48-gm heroin-like-substance

JAMMU, Aug 16: Four drug peddlers were arrested from different areas of the Jammu district with 65.48 grams of heroin-like-substance.
A police official said three drug peddlers, identified as Mohammad Akram of Rehari Colony, Jammu, Talib Gul of Qaimoh, Kulgam, and Manga of Valmiki Colony, Jammu, were arrested with 60 grams of heroin-like-substance by a team of Police Post Nehru Market in two separate incidents on August 14 from Near Tawi River Front, Ware House, Jammu.
He said the arrests and recoveries were made by a team of Police Post Nehru Market led by incharge Police Post concerned, Inspector Sunil Singh, assisted by police officials under the supervision of SHO Gandhi Nagar, Inspector Jai Pal Sharma.
The police official said the accused have been booked in cases FIR numbers 175/2025 under sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act and 181/2025 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar and further investigations are underway.
In another operation, he said, a team of Border Police Post (BPP) Chakrohi led by PSI Majid Shafi, incharge police post concerned, arrested one Sushil Singh of Balah, tehsil Suchetgarh with 5.48 grams of heroin-like-substance from near Gharani Ditch, Chakrohi.
Accordingly, he said, the accused was booked in case FIR number 170/2025 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station RS Pura and further investigation started to unearth his links to the drug syndicate, if any.
