4 drug peddlers arrested with heroin, cannabis

JAMMU, Mar 22: Gangyal, Gharota, Arnia and Banihal police arrested four drug peddlers and recovered heroin and cannabis from their possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Gangyal Police Station led by SHO SI Nayat Ali laid a naka near Kunjwani and intercepted a motorcycle bearing registration number JK02CE-4861.
During checking, police recovered 10 grams heroin from the possession of two persons riding on the motorcycle and arrested them.
The arrested persons have been identified as Faisal Shapoo, son of Bashir Ahmad of Bhadarwah at present Bathindi, Jammu and Malkit Singh, son of Bikram Singh of Bathindi.
Meanwhile, a joint team of District Special Branch and Gharota Police Station led by SHO Inspector Rajinder Sharma apprehended a drug peddler and recovered 14.10 grams heroin, 345.50 grams cannabis and Rs 53,030 cash.
The accused has been identified as Gulshan Kumar, son of Ashok Kumar of Lower Kot, Lane Number 2 Bhalwal.
In another similar incident, a team from Arnia Police Station led by SI Bansi Lal nabbed a drugs trafficker along with 730 grams cannabis and Rs 30,000 cash.
The arrested person has been identified as Ramesh Kumar alias Kuku, son of Jagan Nath, a resident of Ward Number 13, Arnia.
Meanwhile, a team from Banihal Police Station laid a naka near T-Chowk and apprehended a drug peddler along with 10 grams of heroin.
The arrested person has been identified as Mohammad Younis, son of Abdul Salam Sheikh, a resident of Nai Basti, District Ramban.
Police team led by SHO Banihal Inspector Aijaz Ahmed Wani made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Banihal Sajjad Sarwar, Additional SP Ramban Sanjay Parihar and SSP Ramban Anita Sharma.
Cases under relevant sections have been registered at Gangyal, Gharota, Arnia and Banihal Police Stations and investigation started.
