JAMMU, Nov 11: Nagrota, Nowabad and Pouni Chak Police arrested four drug peddlers along with contraband.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Station Nowabad led by SHO Inspector Mohammad Shoket and assisted by PSI Wasim Bhatti under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Parupkar Singh arrested a noted drug peddler-cum-absconder, who was evading his arrest from the past two months.
The arrested person was identified as Irfan Rasheed Rather, son of Abdul Rasheed Rather of District Anantnag.
He was wanted in a case registered under FIR Number 364/2021 under Section 8/15 NDPS Act with Police Station Nagrota. Further investigation into the case is going on.
Meanwhile, on reliable information, a team from Police Station Nowabad led by SHO Inspector Rajesh Khajuria under the supervision of DySP Headquarters Swati Sharma apprehended two drug peddlers along with 49 intoxicant injections and 67 grams cannabis.
The arrested persons were identified as Sahil Khan, son of Vinod, a resident of Janipur and Ishwar Giri, son of Manu Giri of Uttar Pradesh, at present Bhootnath Temple near Jewel.
Cases under relevant Sections have been registered at Police Station Nowabad and investigation started to ascertain the source of the consignment and other persons involved in this illegal trade.
However, a team from Police Post Pouni Chak led by PSI Nitish Khajuria under the supervision of SHO Domana Inspector Mahesh Sharma and SDPO Domana Sunil Sharma laid a naka at Gole Gujaral and apprehended a drug peddler along with 100 ampoules of psychotropic substances.
The arrested person was identified as Ravinder Singh alias Bablu, a resident of Ajit Colony Camp, District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 321/2021 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Domana and investigation started.
