UDHAMPUR, Mar 25: In separate cases, Police arrested four drug peddlers and recovered heroin from their possession.
During routine naka checking at NHW Flata Naka, a police party of PS Rehambal intercepted a Swift Dzire bearing registration number JK04H-9771, which was coming from Jammu towards Kashmir.
On questioning, the driver disclosed his identity as Mohammad Rustum Shah son of Nazir Ahmad Shah of Nadihal, Baramulla. During his personal search, 8.98 grams of heroin was recovered from the right pocket of his trouser.
Similarly, a police party of PP Tikri intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK14G-5132, during naka checking. The vehicle was being driven by Sunil Sharma, son of Girdhari Lal of Jib, Majalta, Udhampur along with co-driver Mohan Lal son of Narayan Dutt of Sunari, Udhampur. During frisking, 5.44 grams of heroin was recovered from their possession.
During patrolling duty in Industrial Area Battalbalian, a police party of PP Battalbalian apprehended one person identified as Arun Singh son of Balbir Singh of Shiv Nagar, Udhampur. During his personal search, 2.98 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession.
Separate FIRs have been registered in all these cases at respective Police Stations.
