KATRA, Nov 23: Police today apprehended four drug peddlers and recovered 8.2 grams of heroin from their possession.
According to Police, a Van (JK08B-0490) coming from Panthal towards Katra, was intercepted by police at Searli Check Post. Besides driver Joginder Singh, son of Kashmir Singh, resident of Tareru, Kalakote, Rajouri, three other persons were boarding the vehicle, who disclosed their identities as Mohd. Fareed, son of Munshi Khan, resident of Dhraman, Kotranka, Rajouri; Mohd Yasir son of Mohd Qayoom of Dhraman, Kotranka, Rajouri and Altaf Hussain, son of Noor Hussain of Targain, Kotranka, Rajouri.
Upon their personal search, police recovered 8.2 grams of heroin from their possession following which all of them were arrested and the vehicle was also seized.
In this regard, FIR No. 317/2025 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Katra. The entire operation was carried out by SHO Katra Inspector Ranjeet Singh Rao and under the supervision of SDPO Katra, Dr Bhishm Dubey.
