UDHAMPUR, Sept 23: In two separate cases, Udhampur Police arrested three drug peddlers and recovered 37 grams of contraband Heroin like substance from their possession.
Two accused were riding a bike without registration number, which was intercepted by a Police party, led by SHO Udhampur, Inspector Chaman Gorkha, under the supervision of Dy SP Headquarters, Sahil Mahajan during a surprise naka near Birma Bridge.
On frisking, 30 grams of Heroin like substance was recovered from the accused, who were arrested on the spot. They were identified as Mohd Younus, son of Mohd Shatu of Thard, Udhampur and Fiaz Ahmed, son of Mohd Rafiq of Larey Udhampur.
In this regard, case FIR number 398/2022 under relevant sections of NDPS Act was registered in PS Udhampur and investigation was taken up.
The overall drive was conducted under the supervision of SSp Udhampur Dr Vinod Kumar.
In another case, a police party from PP Tirki, led by IC PP Tikri PSI Abdul Satar and assisted by SHO PS Rehambal, Inspector Rajesh Sharma intercepted one Scooty bearing registration number JK02CT 6085 and arrested the rider for carrying seven grams of Heroin like substance.
The accused was identified as Mohan All, son of Bua Ditta of Ward number 52, Greater Kailash Jammu. In this connection, case under relevant sections of law has been registered in PS Rehambal.
Meanwhile, Continuing its drive against the menace of drugs, District Police Samba has arrested a drug peddler and recovered about 2.15 grams of Heroin (Chitta) like substance from his possession in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS), Bari-Brahmana. A police party of PS Bari-Brahmana during patrolling duty near Sarore, bridge Bari Brahmana, intercepted a Bolero Car bearing Registration Number JK02CJ/8522 for checking.
During checking, about 2.15 gms of heroin like substance wrapped in a green coloured polythene was recovered from possession of the driver of the vehicle.
On questioning, the accused disclosed his identity as Ghulam Nabi, son of Abdul Rashid Mughal of Gundi Dharam near Daka tehsil Gool, district Ramban at present Bathindi near Kargil Colony Jammu. The accused has been arrested on the spot and the contraband item along with vehicle was also seized.
In this regard, a case FIR No. 169/2022 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Bari-Brahmana and further investigation started.
