4 bovines rescued, smugglers arrested

UDHAMPUR, Sept 25: Police foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling and rescued four animals besides arresting two accused,
Police team of PS Udhampur, while performing routine naka checking at Jakhani, intercepted an Auto Load Carrier (JK14H-8234) coming from Ghordi side.
During checking, four bovine animals were found tied cruelly inside the load carrier and being transported illegally without valid permission from District Udhampur towards Kashmir Valley.
Police rescued the bovines and arrested the accused persons, identified as Anil Kumar, son of Madan Lal, resident of Hartaryan, Tehsil Ramnagar, and his associate Joginder Kumar, son of Kikru Ram, resident of Mani Ramnagar A/P Satani, Udhampur. The vehicle was also seized.
In this regards, a case FIR number 344/2025 U/S 223(a) BNS & 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Udhampur.
