UDHAMPUR, Nov 11: Police today foiled an attempt of bovine smuggling at Battal Ballian area and rescued four animals besides arresting the alleged smuggler.
Police team from Police Post Battal Ballian intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK19A-5734 at Factory Chowk, Battal Ballian. The vehicle driven by Abdul Razaq son of Mahmood Ahmed, resident of Bakwal Chak, Anantnag, was found carrying four bovine animals, being transported illegally without any valid permission.
The accused was arrested on the spot and the vehicle was seized while all the bovines were rescued. Accordingly, case FIR No. 390/2025 under Section 223 BNS 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Udhampur.
