Srinagar, Nov 24: Four persons were arrested by police from South Kashmir’s Pulwama district last night for last week’s bank robbery in Budgam district.
A police official said that these arrests were made in connection with the bank robbery in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
“Gunmen last week looted Rs 12 lakh from Jammu and Kashmir Bank branch at Charari-e-Sharif in Budgam. In this regard we made some arrests and investigating is going on,” he said.
The official said preliminary investigation has revealed that some locals provided logistic support and shelter to the gunmen who looted the Bank at Malapora Charari-e-Sharif in Budgam.
The arrested youth have been identified as Tanvir Ahmed Wani, Tanvir Ahmed Bhat, Farooq Ahmed Bhat and Muhammad Iqbal Wani.
