JAMMU, Mar 10: Police today arrested four gamblers along with around Rs 10,000 stake money from village Phinder, falling under the jurisdiction of Miran Sahib police station.
As per police sources, on specific inputs, police team from Miran Sahib police station conducted a raid in village Phinder and arrested four gamblers along with Rs 9,715 stake money and playing cards.
The accused have been identified as Prithpal Singh alias Shanti, son of late Janak Singh of Singhpura Murallian, Miran Sahib, Jagjeet Singh alias Dhana, son of late Ram Singh of Bhour Camp, Amandeep Singh alias Booter alias Shammi, son of Amarjeet Singh of Village Phinder, Miran Sahib, Davinder Singh alias Raju, son of Janak Singh of Singhpura Murallian, Pardeep Kumar alias Kali, son of Des Raj of Tali Morh Miran Sahib and Prabhjot Singh alias Shanti, son of Rajinder Singh of Village Phinder, Miran Sahib Jammu.
A case under Gambling Act has been registered at Digiana police post and investigation started.
Police team headed by SHO Miran Sahib police station SI Hilal Azhar made the arrests under the direct supervision of SDPO RS Pura Harjeet Singh and SP Headquarters Jammu RC Kotwal.
