KATHUA, Jan 10: Four stray cattle were crushed to death at Lakhanpur today when a LPG tanker bearing number HR 55-9788 which was on its way from Pathankot to Jammu turned turtle at Lakhanpur six kilometers from here today after the driver lost control on the steering.
The driver and conductor of the tanker were rescued unhurt. The stray cattle were moving near the road and the tanker fell on them. The panic gripped Lakhanpur area after the accident as people apprehended leak of gas from the tanker.
However, the Lakhanpur police swung into action and took the tanker under its control. Later the experts of the LPG were called from neighbouring Punjab to restore the tanker. The Lakhanpur Police has registered a case.
