3rd major terror attack in 5 months

Today’s terror attack in Kishtwar was third major militant strike in the heart of Kishtwar town in over five months.
On November 1, 2018, the militants had struck at Parihar Mohalla in Kishtwar town and gunned down prominent BJP leader, Anil Parihar and his brother, Ajit Parihar when they were nearing their house after closing their shop around 8.45 pm.
The Government had handed over the case to the national Investigation Agency (NIA) but so far the Agency has not announced any breakthrough in the case.
On March 8, 2019, the militants had struck at Asrarabad near Government Girls Higher Secondary School and snatched rifle of DC Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana’s PSO, Daleep Singh. The PSO was later suspended.
In this case too, the militants involved in the rifle snatching haven’t been arrested.
Today’s terror attack in which RSS functionary Chanderkant Sharma and his PSO Rajinder Kumar were martyred was third in the past about five months.
Sources said Chanderkant Sharma was with Parihar brothers on the day of attack on November 1 when both closed their shops. While Parihar brothers took a different lane to their house, Sharma had taken another route and survived.
Sharma was very closely associated with Parihar brothers and there was hardly any day when they didn’t meet each other till the Parihar brothers were martyred.
Some of the arrested militants had earlier also revealed that Chanderkant was on their target and they had twice attempted to kill him in the past but didn’t succeed.
