38 bovines rescued

RAJOURI/ DODA, Aug 1: While foiling four bovine smuggling bids, the police rescued 38 bovines from the clutches of smugglers in Rajouri and Doda districts last night.
Reports said a team of police headed by Station House Officer, Dharamsal Amit Singh intercepted a person and rescued five bovines from his clutches. He was identified as Abdul Majid, son of Ahmed Din, resident of Brehvi, Kalakote. He was taking the cattle on foot to avoid police naka. A case FIR No. 50/19 U/S 295 A,188 RPC has been registered against him.
Another team of police headed by SHO, Thanamandi, Javed Malik during naka checking at upper bridge Thanamandi intercepted a Tata Mobile vehicle No. JK11A-1129 being driven by Rayaz Ahmed, son of Khizar Mohammad, a resident of Behrote in Thanamandi.
Eight bovine animals loaded in the vehicle were rescued and vehicle has been seized. The accused smuggler was also arrested. A case FIR No. 164/2019 U/S 188 RPC 3 PCA Act has been registered against him.
Another police team led by SHO Kalakote, Sanjay Raina noticed a Tata Magic vehicle bearing registration number JK11C-9027, parked alongside road with seven animals loaded in it which were rescued. The vehicle has also been seized while search for the driver and accused smugglers was launched.
Police has also registered a case in FIR No. 75/2019 U/S 295A/188/RPC, 3 PCA Act at Police Station, Kalakote.
Reports from Doda said that on a specific information, police party from PS Dessa led by SHO Ashok Bazaz laid a naka at Motala, Batta and intercepted two bovine smugglers namely Mohd Rafiq, son of Salamdin and Mohd Hussain from Gidaboo Gujjar, tehsil Kastigarh who were carrying 18 bovines on foot to valley without permission.
On this case FIR No. 17/19 u/s188 RPC / 3PC Act stands registered against them.
