37 new dengue cases reported

JAMMU, Oct 2: Jammu and Kashmir reported 37 new dengue cases on other day, taking the cumulative tally for the year 2025 to 1142.
A total of 120 tests were conducted on Wednesday, of which 27 males and 10 females tested positive. Among the new cases, 3 were children under 18 years of age, while 34 were adults.
District-wise, Jammu continued to report the highest number with 22 fresh cases, raising its total to 467. Kathua followed with 6 new cases, taking its cumulative tally to 338. Reasi reported 4 new infections while Udhampur, Samba, Rajouri, Doda and Kashmir detected one case each.
So far in 2025, 15,207 tests have been conducted, yielding 1142 positives. In comparison, 14,370 tests had been carried out by the same date in 2024, when 1,887 cases were recorded—indicating a lower positivity rate this year.
On the clinical front, no fresh hospital admissions were reported on Wednesday. However, seven patients remain under treatment. Cumulatively, 31 patients have been admitted since January.
