37 bovine animals rescued, 6 held

UDHAMPUR, Jan 22: Police today arrested six bovine smugglers and rescued 37 milch animals from their possession.
Giving details, Ashkoor Ahmed Wani, SSP Udhampur said that Kud Police during routine checking intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK02AC-0797.
During checking, police recovered 13 bovine animals and arrested two persons identified as driver Mohd Hafiz, son of Abdul Rashid Pattan of Karchama, Kupwara and Ayaz Ali, son of Ghulam Hussain Mir of Chwath Quazigund, Kulgam, SSP added.
A case under FIR number 9/13 under Section 188 RPC, 3 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Kud and investigation started.
He said that in another incident, Kud Police also checked another truck JK01A-0384. During checking, police rescued 14 bovine animals and arrested one person namely Imtiaz Ahmed, son of Gulam Hussain Itoo of Chawath Quazigund Kulgam, he added.
A case under FIR number 10/13 under Section 188 RPC, 3 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Kud and investigation started.
Meanwhile, Chenani police during routine checking intercepted a truck bearing registration number JK03A-1001.
During checking, police recovered 10 bovine animals and arrested three persons namely Talib Hussain, son of Mohd Ibrahim of Zero Morh, Talwara Reasi, Rouf Ahmed, son of Abdul Majid of Chawath Quazigund Kulgam and Omar Rafi, son of Mohd Rafi of Quazigund Kulgam, SSP said.
In this connection case FIR number 5/13 under Section 188 RPC, 3 PCA Act stands registered in Police Station Chenani and investigation started.
