RAJOURI, July 19: In compliance with the directions of the higher authorities, Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Rajouri, Rajesh Gupta today conducted an enforcement drive aimed at checking violations on the National Highway (NH).
During the drive, a total of 35 challans were issued for various violations of the Motor Vehicles Act. Additionally, 8 vehicles were seized for serious infractions, which include 4 vehicles without a speed limit device, one vehicle without a valid permit, two vehicles being operated without a valid Driving License (DL) and one vehicle without a valid fitness certificate.
A total fine amounting to Rs. 67,000 was collected on the spot. Moreover, three recommendations for suspension of Driving Licenses (DLs) were also forwarded.
The ARTO Rajouri reiterated the Transport Department’s commitment to ensuring road safety and strict adherence to traffic rules. Such enforcement drives will continue in the future to deter habitual offenders and promote safe driving practices, he said.
