UDHAMPUR, June 5: Police today foiled two separate attempts of bovine smuggling, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Majalta and rescued 34 bovines.
Team of Police Station Majalta, led by SHO Sohan Singh, while performing routine vehicle checking duty at PCP Battal, intercepted two vehicles ( Truck JK21B-4337 and Canter JK13J-3940).
During checking, 34 bovines were found laden in these vehicles without valid permission. Police rescued the animals and arrested both the drivers and their two helpers. They were identified as Truck driver Muktair Ahmed and his helper Mohd Arif Khatana, Canter driver Umar Hussain and his helper Mohd Akhter.
Both the vehicles were also seized a case FIR No. 46/47/2025 U/S 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act has been registered in this connection at Police Station Majalta.
