32 vehicles challaned, Rs 67,900 fine imposed

JAMMU, May 24: The Motor Vehicles Department Rajouri today carried out a comprehensive enforcement drive to curb traffic violations across the district. The drive was led by ARTO Rajouri, Rajesh Gupta, assisted by MVI Rahul Singh and other staff of the department.
During the drive, a total of 32 challans were issued, amounting to a penalty sum of Rs. 67,900. Additionally, 4 vehicles were seized for serious violations.
The special focus of the enforcement drive was on curbing the illegal practice of carrying goods in passenger vehicles, as well as tackling issues of overloading and overspeeding – which are among the leading causes of road accidents.
