317th birth anniversary of Khalsa Panth celebrated

JAMMU, Apr 14: The 317th birth anniversary (Sajana Diwas) of Khalsa Panth was celebrated by Sikh community at Gurudwara Chattipatshai Talab Tillo, Jammu with full religious devotion and enthusiasm as per basic Nanak Shahi Calander of 2003 here today.
The progamme was organized by DGPC Jammu with the cooperation of Sikh Sangat and several Sikh organizations in which large number of devotees participated from all corner of Jammu to strengthen the message of Guru Gobind Singh Ji for entire humanity.
Ragi Jatha of Bhai Kulvinder Singh Ji Hazoori Ragi Sri Darbar Sahib Amritsar recited the `Gurvani Kirtan’ and prominent Sikh religious preachers of Jammu and Kashmir, Sant Tejwant Singh Ji and Bhai Ajitpal Singh threw light on the importance of `Sajana Diwas’ and teaching of Guru Gobind Singh Ji and Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Local Ragi Jathas also recited the Shabad Kirtan.
Amrit Sanchar (Baptisation) dedicated to birth anniversary of Khalsa Panth was organized on April 13 , at Gurudwara Baba Fateh Singh Ji Gandhi Nagar Jammu in which nearly 300 Gur-Sikhs were baptized.
President J&K State Gurdwara Parbandhak Board, TS Wazir while addressing the gathering stressed for unity and uniformity of Sikh community in Jammu and Kashmir for effective resolution of burning issues of Sikh community and assured the Sikh community for the resolution of genuine aspirations of the community.
Harjinder Singh general secretary disclosed that this time instead of just presenting long memorandums to State Government we have decided to constitute an effective and accountable panel of Rtd Sikh officers & Sikh intellectuals for follow up of demands and issues of Sikh community in Jammu and Kashmir as the successive regimes have always ignored the community concerns. A few resolutions were also passed.
