AKHNOOR, May 24: The 300th birth anniversary of Punyashlok Rani Ahilyabai Holkar, the legendary 18th-century queen of Indore, was celebrated today with fervor.
In this regard a function was organized by BJP District Akhnoor unit.
The event was graced by MLA Akhnoor Mohan Lal Bhagat, Rekha Mahajan as keynote speaker, district president Kuldeep Raj Sharma, DDC Bhushan Bral and Seh Prabhari Manmohan Singh.
Addressing to the gathering MLA Mohan lal Bhagat emphasized the need to draw inspiration from historical figures like Rani Ahilyabai, especially in today’s context of empowering women and promoting inclusive development.
He also lauded the BJP’s commitment to preserving and promoting the nation’s cultural and historical heritage.
Speaking on the occasion, Rekha Mahajan paid rich tribute to Rani Ahilyabai Holkar, hailing her as a symbol of courage, good governance and devotion to public welfare.
She described the queen as a rare combination of administrative brilliance and spiritual wisdom, whose legacy continues to inspire generations across India.
“Rani Ahilyabai Holkar was not just a ruler, she was a reformer, a philanthropist and a visionary leader. In an era dominated by male rulers, she emerged as a beacon of justice and compassion,” she said, adding “It is our duty to remember such great personalities and imbibe their values in our lives, especially in public service and community leadership.”
District president Kuldeep Sharma thanked large number of party workers and residents of Akhnoor who attended the workshop, making it a vibrant and engaging occasion.
Proceeding of the workshop was conducted by Shakti Bhagat.
