POONCH, Apr 15: While only one J&K resident boarded PoK bound bus today, 30 PoK residents arrived here to meet their relatives residing on this side of the Line of Control.
In last three consecutive occasions there was not even a single J&K visitor to PoK and today was just a single. In last one and half month, just five J&K residents were cleared by the Pakistani authorities for the PoK visit. Out of the total 26 people who crossed over to PoK from Chakkan-da-Bagh, 25 were PoK returnees. There was strong resentment among the J&K residents who have applied for PoK visit.
It is said that nearly 3400 applications of J&K residents were pending clearance from the Pak authorities. Mohd Yunis Chief Agri Officer and DySP S S Slathia from Indian side and Aslam Kiani SDM Hajira from Pak side facilitated the passengers at LoC point. The cross LoC point was opened between 1.40 pm and 2 pm today.
