JAMMU, Jan 10: Nagrota police foiled bovines smuggling bids by rescuing 30 cattle and arresting two smugglers.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Nagrota Police Station laid a naka near Ban Toll Plaza and intercepted two trucks bearing registration numbers Jk02AH-5977 and JK02BW-2353.
During checking, police team rescued 30 bovine animals and arrested two persons, who were identified as Nazir Hussain, son of Sher Mohammad of Digwar Tehrwa Tehsil Haveli District Poonch and Mehraj Wani, son of Ghulam Hussain Wani of Karole District Ramban.
Cases under FIR Numbers 14/2020 and 15/2020, under relevant sections of law have been registered in Police Station Nagrota and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Mohammad Shoket made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Mohan Lal Sharma.
