POONCH, Dec 1: Special Mobile Magistrate Poonch Ahsan Malik has convicted a Madarsa teacher (Molvi) to undergo three years’ rigorous imprisonment (RI) for committing unnatural offence.
The accused Mohd Bashir, son of Mohd Shafi, resident of Kalai village in Tehsil Haveli (Poonch) sentenced to undergo three years’ rigorous imprisonment for committing sodomy. He had been booked by Poonch Police in a case FIR No. 77/2009 U/S 377 RPC.
The accused convict sentenced for the commission of offence for three years and fine of Rs 5000 in case of default in payment of fine the accused person shall further undergo rigorous imprisonment for six months.
During trial, sincere efforts put forth by the Police as well as prosecuting staff, the offence has been established against the accused person and thus convicted.
Shaheen Ahmed Khan, Chief Prosecuting Officer represented the State whereas, Lal Hussain Mushtaq, advocate appeared for the accused.
