Srinagar, Apr 11: Police today said three ladies attempted suicide in Anantnag, Baramulla and Kupwara districts of Valley.
A police spokesman said 40 year-old woman (name withheld) hailing from Kerawa Colony of Bijbehara Town in Ananatnag set herself ablaze after pouring K-Oil on her body. “The lady has been shifted to SMHS Hospital Srinagar for treatment. Police have registered a case in this regard,” he said.
The spokesman said an unknown lady jumped into the river Jhelum from Cement Bridge in Baramulla. “Police were putting its efforts to fish out the body of the lady,” he said.
The spokesman said a 22 year-old girl (name withheld) hailing from Manzhar village of Kupwara consumed some poisonous substance at her home. “The girl was shifted to the SMHS Hospital Srinagar for treatment. Police have registered a case in this regard,” he added.
