SAMBA, Jan 19: In a continued effort to curb illegal mining activities, the district Police Samba have seized three vehicles, including an excavator, in the jurisdictional areas of Police Stations Ghagwal and Samba. The vehicles were being used for the illegal transportation and extraction of construction material.
Police teams, led by SHO PS Ghagwal and SHO PS Samba, were conducting routine patrols when they seized the vehicles. The confiscated vehicles include a JCB excavator, a dumper without registration numbers, and a tractor trolley (JK21F-1220) involved in the unlawful mining operations.
The seized vehicles have been handed over to the Geology & Mining Department, Samba, for further investigation and action.
