3 vehicles loaded with bovines seized, 6 held

RAJOURI, Oct 13: The police foiled three bovines smuggling attempts and seized three vehicles loaded with bovines and nabbed six persons for the illegal transportation of the cattle to Kashmir.
Official sources said that continuing its drive against bovine smuggling, Rajouri Police foiled three separate bovine smuggling attempts in different areas of the district. A total of 8 bovine animals were rescued, three vehicles seized and six accused persons booked.
During naka checking in Keri area by the Police Party from Chingus, led by the In-charge PP Chingus, one Tata Mobile vehicle bearing registration number JK11E-6667 was intercepted and found transporting four bovine animals without valid permission.
The driver was identified as Khalid Hussain, son of Wazir Hussain, resident of Chawa Rajouri while his associates were identified as Ravis Mir, son of Abdul Gani, resident of Khablan Thanamandi and Manzoor Ahmed, son of Mohd Khan, from Tandwal, Rajouri.
In this regard a case FIR No. 510/2025 U/S 223 BNS & 11 PCA Act has been registered at Police Station Rajouri.
A Police party from Dharamsal led by SHO established a naka at Solki and during checking a Tata Magic load carrier bearing registration number JK11H-5076 driven by Mohd Altaf, son of Mohd Yousuf, resident of Mangota, Budhal and his associate Ravinder Singh, son of Budhi Singh resident of Bhela Khawas, coming from Manjidhara towards Kalakote via Solki was intercepted and found carrying two bovine animals without valid permission.
In this regard a case FIR No. 88/2025 U/S 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act was registered at Police Station Dharamsal against them.
During another naka in Kallar area police party intercepted a Tata Mobile vehicle bearing registration number JK11E-0715 driven by Wajid Hussain Shah, son of Mohd Yousuf, resident of Channi Soit, found carrying two bovine animals without valid permission.
In this regard a case FIR No. 89/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Dharamsal and investigation is underway.
