JAMMU, May 28: Panic gripped Narwal area here today after three old rocket-propelled grenade (RPG) shells were recovered from the locality.

Around 1:30 pm, some passerby spotted three shells near RTO office Narwal and informed the police, a police official said.

Accordingly, a police team, along with the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS), reached at the spot to cordon the area and analyse the explosive devices, he said.
Later, around 2 pm, the shells were defused at an isolated location, the police official said.
“From preliminary investigation, it appears the shells were old and appeared to have been dumped at the site. But we are investigating into the matter to know how they reached the area,” he added.
