UDHAMPUR, Aug 25: Authorities have suspended three employees of the Public Works Department (R&B), Ramnagar Division, after reports of embezzlement of funds meant for Samagra works surfaced.

The action was taken following a communication from the Executive Engineer, PWD (R&B) Ramnagar, highlighting misappropriation of money from the division’s official account.
According to an official order issued by the Chief Engineer, PWD (R&B) Chenab Zone, the suspended officials include JEs Kushal Singh and Rahul Sharma and MTS Akhil Singh.
All three have been attached to the office of the Superintending Engineer, PWD (R&B) Circle Doda-Kishtwar, pending further orders.
The order stated that the matter has been referred to the Station House Officer, Police Station Ramnagar, for further investigation.
Meanwhile, strict action has also been recommended against the employees handling accounts in the division.
As per the order, the suspension has been made under Rule 31 (1) of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services Classification, Control and Appeal Rules, 1956, with immediate effect.
