MENDHAR, Nov 1: Three Medical employees were suspended a Medical Officer (MO) was attached for the dereliction in duty at Primary Health Centre, Dhar Galoon in Balakote area of district Poonch.
Official sources said that action was taken against the Medical staff after they failed to provide treatment to 5 –year-old boy from LoC village who was brought to the Health Centre last mid-night by the family members and villagers for treatment. They found the PHC locked and after hectic efforts no medical staff was found in the vicinity.
The boy was serious and the villagers had reached there after covering the distance on foot from LoC village after crossing fence gate. They did not gave in and then managed to hire a private vehicle and shifted the boy to District Hospital Rajouri to save precious life.
The village Panchayat members took up the matter with the CMO Poonch, Dr Mumtaz Bhatti, who directed the BMO Mendhar Dr Parvez Ahmed Khan to conduct on spot inquiry and take action. The BMO reached the PHC Dhar Galoon and after holding inquiry he attached Medical Officer, Dr Mohd Lateef with the SDH Mendhar and suspended three other staff members. They are Pharmacist Mohd Hanief, Nursing Orderly Nazir Hussain and Class IV employee Manzoor Ahmed. He also fined X-ray Assistant for not maintaining dress code. Meanwhile, two Junior Staff nurses of SDH Mendhar Safina Akhtar and Rubina Sultana were fined Rs 1000 each for not maintaining dress code during duty in the hospital.
