RAMBAN, Nov 10: Three persons were killed, when a poll duty bound bus they were travelling in from Srinagar to Jammu rolled down into gorge near Nachlana on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
The ill-fated passenger bus bearing registration JK03-2047 was on its way to Jammu for poll duty from Srinagar, when the driver lost control over the steering and the vehicle landed into gorge near Nachlana, falling under the jurisdiction of Banihal police station.
On getting information, police rushed to the spot and with the help of locals and Army personnel started rescue operation. The three occupants of the vehicle were rushed to Sub-District Hospital (SDH), Banihal, where doctors pronounced them as brought dead.
The deceased have been identified as driver Abdul Rashid, son of Ghulam Nabi Peer, a resident of Handwara, Abdul Latief son of Ghulam Mohammad Naik and Imran, son of Abdul Subhan, both residents of Mahu Marmat.
After conducting autopsy, the bodies were handed over to legal heirs for last rites.
A case under relevant Sections has been registered at Banihal police station and investigation started.
