3 JKAS officers promoted

JAMMU, Feb 2: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has ordered promotions of three Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) officers to higher grades with immediate effect.

As per a Government order, Dhananter Singh has been promoted to the Special Scale of the JKAS in pay level 13 and designated as Special Secretary to the Government, Health and Medical Education Department.
In a separate order, Umesh Sharma and Abid Iqbal Malik have been promoted to the Selection Grade of the JKAS in pay level 12.
Consequent upon their promotion, Umesh Sharma has been posted as Additional Secretary to the Government, School Education Department, while Abid Iqbal Malik will continue at his present place of posting.
Meanwhile, the UT Government has also accorded sanction for the release of Selection Grade (Non-functional) and Special Scale (Non-functional) in favour of a retired JKAS officer, Masood Ahmad Qazi, with retrospective effect.
The order issued in this context said that the Selection Grade in pay level 12 has been released in Qazi’s favour with effect from January 1, 2019, while the Special Scale in pay level 13 has been released with effect from January 1, 2023.
