RAJOURI, Sept 28: The police arrested three persons for illegal transportation of Khair wood in Sunderbani area today.
Reports said a police party from Sunderbani led by SHO Insp Rajiv Sharma under the supervision of SDPO Nowshera, Sahil Mahajan during a naka at Prat Chowk intercepted a truck, bearing registration number JK21B-4327, coming from Kadma towards NHW Thandapani. It was on way to Jammu. On search the truck was found loaded with 40–45 quintals of Khairwood without any valid permission.
The driver of the vehicle Mohd Munir, son of Mohd Yousuf, resident of Talab Tilloo, Jammu along with his two accomplices- Asgar Ali, son of Yousuf Ali from Kot Bhalwal Jammu and Shah Amin, son of Ghulam Rasool from Karloop, Marh, Jammu were arrested on the spot
In this regard FIR No. 63/2025 has been registered at Police Station Sunderbani under relevant sections of law. The vehicle along with the illegal consignment of khair wood has been seized and further investigation is underway.
